HUNTINGTON, PA- The Patriot men competed in the opening round of the Doc Greene Tournament, December 7, 2012. The Patriots went up against the SUNY Farmingdale State College Rams and were defeated, 57-73.
Coming into the tournament, the Patriots knew the Rams would be one of the toughest teams they would face all year. As the game started, the Patriots fell behind and were unable to catch up before time ran out. The Patriots were out-matched on the boards, allowing the Rams 26 second-chances to score.
The Patriots were able to only shoot 36% from the field, and just 42% from the key.
Sophomore Patriot
Kevin Mack registered 19 points.
Freshman
Domenick Bond recorded his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Jean LeBlanc scored 11 points, going 3-4 beyond the arc. LeBlanc also recorded two steals on the night.
The Rams AJ Matthews tallied a game high 29 points and 25 rebounds.
The Patriots move on to the consolation game of the Doc Greene Tournament, where they will face Eastern University. Tip-off is schedule for 2 pm.
