Box Score
PHOENIXVILLE, PA – The Valley Forge Christian College men's basketball team loss their first contest of the season on Saturday, November 17, 2012, in a match-up with Southeastern University.
The Patriots knew that they had their work cut out for them, facing a team with much more size than they encountered in their first two games. They had hoped to force a fast pace game, countering SEU's size with their speed. However, the Patriots' defense lacked the intensity and crispness that existed the previous night. They weren't able to get out in transition the way that had hoped.
Spending more time than they wanted in the half-court, they ended up getting bludgeoned on the boards. SEU out-rebounded the Patriots, 42-23. Offensively, that translated into a 50% shooting night for SEU. In addition, SEU was able to tack on a 46.7% night from the three-point line. The final score was 73-48.
Lance Harris led the Patriots in scoring with 12 points.
Freshman Chase Bell and senior
Donnell Davis each added nine points.
The Patriots will take a few days off then play in a weekend tournament at Gallaudet University. The Patriots' first round opponent will be St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn.
