PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The Valley Forge Christian College Lady Patriots defeated Rutgers-Camden University, 59-54, on Monday (Feb. 7).
Both teams made exactly 21 field goals. Valley Forge made just one more free-throw (11-for-19) than their opponent (10-for-21). Valley Forge edged out Rutgers-Camden in rebounding (39-38).
The Lady Patriots' only true edge may have been the 18 points they scored from the three-point line, which Rutgers-Camden was unable to match.
In the closing minutes, Rutgers-Camden exerted a final push, but key free-throws by the Lady Patriots helped solidify the outcome.
Amanda Reich scored a team-high 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Shawneal McKeither recorded 15 points, four assists, and two steals.
Amanda Compton poured in 14 points and finished with three assists.
Charla Benton grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Aliyah Carr chipped in with seven rebounds and two steals.
Kaitlyn Antolic also grabbed seven rebounds.
With the victory, the Lady Patriots improve to 15-11 on the season.
