PHOENIXVILLE, PA - The Valley Forge Christian College women's basketball team fell to Trinity Washington University, 46-49.
After executing one of their best defensive halves of the season, allowing Trinity Washington to just 10 first half points, the Lady Patriots' control of the game seemed to unravel.
Trinity Washington would not give in, and came out in the second half like a team on a mission. The Trinity Tigers ramped up their intensity and turned the game completely around.
The Lady Patriots, who typically rattle teams with their defensive pressure, seemed to be playing back on their heels and would turn the ball over a season-high 34 times.
Trinity Washington outscored the Lady Patriots 39-24 for the half, en route to an amazing come from behind victory.
Even with everything seeming to go a rye, the Lady Patriots still had a chance to pull off the win. In fact, it wasn't until the game's closing moments that Trinity Washington would secure the lead.
For the Lady Patriots, several players made key contributions.
Amanda Reich led the team in scoring with 12 points.
Shawneal McKeither tallied 10 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and two assists.
Aliyah Carr collected seven rebounds and three assists.
Charla Benton grabbed seven rebounds.
Amanda Compton recorded two blocked shots.
Talaya Woodall finished with three steals.
With the loss, the Lady Patriots fall to 14-11 on the season.
