PHOENIXVILLE, PA – On Saturday afternoon (Feb. 12), the Lady Patriots were victorious over the Lady Crusaders of Christendom College, 91-58.
Sophomore
Amanda Reich (Milton, PA, Milton High School) made it rain in the “Pit” as she connected on 5-of-10 from the perimeter. Reich notched a season-high 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting.
Reich wasn't the only person who managed to score the basketball efficiently as
Shawneal McKeither (Philadelphia, PA) added 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor. McKeither also added five assists and six steals.
The Lady Patriots dominated from the tip as they pushed their half time lead to 30 points (54-24), and led by as many as 38 points in the second half.
The Valley Forge women gained their advantages in transition, scoring off turnovers, and in the paint, where they out-rebounded Christendom, 46-31.
Sophomore
Amanda Compton (Newark, DE, Elkton Christian Academy) finished with a game-high of 12 rebounds.
Kaitlyn Antolic (Burlington, NJ, Florence High School) also did a great job on the boards, securing eight rebounds in just 17 minutes.
Christendom's top players performed well, but they could not match the Lady Patriots' depth. The Lady Crusader's bench was outscored, 35-1.
Also making significant statistical contributions was
Charla Benton (Milford, DE, Greenwood Mennonite School). Benton tallied three assists and three steals.
With the victory, the Lady Patriots improved to 17-11 on the season. Their next contest is a East Region road match-up with Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday (Feb. 16).
