Maurice Lewis joins the University of Valley Forge men's basketball program in his first season as an assistant coach, bringing a diverse coaching background and a passion for player development.
Most recently, Lewis served as Head Coach of the men's basketball program at Community Christian College (2022-2024), where he also served as Interim Head Coach for the women's program (2022-2023). Prior to his head coaching tenure, he was an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Owens College (2021-2022) and spent three seasons as an Assistant Coach at Robichaud High School (2018-2021).
Lewis has maintained a strong commitment to skill development, serving as a Fundamentals Coach with Blueprint Athletes since 2017, where he has worked alongside NBA and G-League professionals. His coaching journey began as a volunteer coach at Cherry Hill School of Performing Arts (2008-2010), and he has also contributed to various AAU programs and basketball camps, including Wolf Pack Select, Harlem Globetrotter Camp, and High Impact Motivational Camp (2012-2014).
As a player, Lewis competed at the collegiate level as a point guard at Olivet College (NCAA Division III) from 2007-2009, where he developed the on-court experience that shapes his coaching philosophy today.
Lewis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Olivet University in May 2014, majoring in Sports/Recreation Management and Fitness Management. In addition to his coaching duties, he has served as a Health and Physical Education teacher at multiple academies since 2018, where he has developed comprehensive curricula and served as a mentor to students.
