Fred comes to us as a First Year student with Moravian University's Master's in Athletic Training (MSAT) program. He arrived at Moravian in pursuit of his "second act" previously having dedicated a 25+ year career to National Security and Federal law enforcement positions with the Department of Justice and Intelligence Community. A native Pennsylvanian, Fred grew up both a "Coal Cracker" from the Anthracite Coal Region of NEPA (Schuylkill County) and a "Pastor's Kid" the son of a long time ordained Lutheran Minister. Fred is no stranger to the small DIII environment having graduated from Haverford College with a degree in Russian Studies (1996). While there he played one season of baseball before a couple of knee surgeries pushed him to medically retire. Fred has also been a Nationally Registered Paramedic for more than 15 years and is an active EMS volunteer in the local suburban Philly community where he lives with his wife and family. We will be hosting Fred for his third clinical rotation, as he has completed prior assignments with Southern Lehigh HS on their way to becoming this year's PA Quad A high school football State champs - and more recently the UPenn Quakers wrestling team.
