Jimmy Stevenson is in his third year as University of Valley Forge's Head Cross Country Coach. In his first official cross country season, Stevenson coached Hannah Kopec and Isaac Gale to the best individual placement in program history (2nd and 3rd place respectively) at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship. At the same race, 2021 CSAC Championship, the men's team earned third place and the women's team captured fourth place.
Stevenson is an Online Personal Running Coach with Run Free Training. At Run Free, Stevenson developed an ongoing, individualized holistic training plan for each athlete which focused on the individual's body, mind, and spirit through a Christian worldview.
Prior to Run Free, Stevenson served as an assistant on the Cross Country and Track & Field Coaching Staff at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. (September 2016 – May 2017). In September 2015, Stevenson assisted the Cross Country team at Elon University (Elon, NC) for a single season. With the Phoenix, Stevenson was responsible for managing practices, meets, team travel, and the recruiting process.
With a passion for running, Stevenson competed in the California International Marathon in December 2018, notching a person record with a 2:23:20 finish. As of now, Stevenson is actively pursuing a spot in the 2024 Marathon Olympic Trials.
Stevenson graduated from Elon University in May 2014, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast News. Stevenson was a four-year varsity scholarship cross country athlete for the Phoenix and a school-record holder in the 10,000m race (31:36.75).
